Perrysburg Rotary’s Golf Outing to Benefit Community Projects

Perrysburg Rotary’s Golf Outing to Benefit Community Projects

Enjoy a great day on the golf course while supporting impactful community projects through the Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation!

Join Perrysburg Rotary Club members and guests at the 29th Annual Perrysburg Rotary Golf Outing. The event will be held on Friday, August 8 at the beautiful Belmont Country Club … where the swings are strong, the putts are questionable, and the cause is absolutely worth it. The outing will be an 18-hole best ball scramble beginning with 8:00 a.m. registration and 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The cost is $130 per player and includes a lunch buffet at the at Belmont beginning at 12:45 p.m. Form your own 4-person team or register individually and we’ll pair you up!

“Our club has been hosting an annual golf outing since 1996,” says Mitchel Skotynsky, Perrysburg Rotarian and chair of this year’s outing. “Our Rotary club members invite guests to play and solicit sponsorships to defray costs of the outing while raising money for our Foundation to use in local projects.”

All proceeds from the outing will benefit the Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation, the non-profit 501(c)(3) arm of the Perrysburg Rotary Club. Over the past 20 years, the Foundation has contributed $1,000,000 to develop Perrysburg Rotary Community Park in partnership with the City of Perrysburg. Today, the park includes eight pickleball courts; five  lighted tennis courts; an all-inclusive playground; a sheltered pavilion with full access restrooms; recreational fields; and a walking/jogging track.

“And we’re not done yet with the park,” says Jack Sculfort, Executive Director of the Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation. “The funds we’ve raised at our last two charity auctions are earmarked for park enhancements and include converting the existing detention pond into a nature-based rain garden with a learning deck, a walking path along the northern edge of the park, and the addition of a crosswalk with warning lights across Fort Meigs Road.”

Through the years the Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation has contributed funds for community endeavors including kick-starting the original Perrysburg Maumee fireworks, donating $10,000 and physical labor to build the original Fort Imagination at Woodlands Park, sponsoring the 2016 Perrysburg bicentennial parade, and supporting Perrysburg Schools with projects at every level. More recently, the Foundation helped finance a dog park at The Cocoon shelter for women and children. It has also supported area non-profit organizations including The Way Public Library, the 577 Foundation, Fort Meigs YMCA, W.W. Knight Nature Preserve, the Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra, and the Perrysburg Area Historic Museum at the Spafford House.

“We want to be the go-to Foundation for our community,” says Jack Sculfort. “But while we are always seeking donations to our Foundation, we are also looking to fund grant opportunities for local non-profits in need of outside assistance.” Area 501(c)(3) organizations can submit grant applications at www.prcf.org.

Golf outing sponsorships are available beginning at $130 and can be obtained by visiting prcf.org, where you can also register for the outing. A huge thank you to our amazing sponsors who have already stepped up to make this event possible: APC, Dick & Annette Sipp, Hallie & Ed Nagel, McGivern Jewelers, Rudolph Libbe Group, and Skotynsky Financial.
